The 2018 Okura Forest festival was a huge success. An event that was enjoyed by both the public and the volunteers involved. The event ran from 11am till 11pm on the 17th of Feb. We raised over $17,000! It will be put into ensuring this natural area stays as natural as possible.
A big thanks to the many many volunteers involved for helping out with things such as food n drink, sounds and lighting, security, the fundraiser, enviro stalls and of course the musicians who gave up their time to share their talents with the fantastic. We were able to get so many key messages across to everyone about the state of our environment (from pest plants to pest animals and climate change to coastal development pressures) as well as having some direct action taken on the day.
Cheers to the following for sponsoring this event: Pub Charities, Hibiscus and Bays Local Board, Active Audio and Lighting LTD, Organic Mechanic, Wild Alchemy, Fuera Pizza Ovens & Tony’s Woodfired Pizza ovens.
2019’s festival will be on the 16th of February. Hope to see you and the whanau there!
